2011 in Review

First let us apologize this post is going to be long! Since we only post 2x a year now, there is a lot to add into this end of year update. ;) It's pretty hard to review a year that was probably the best year of your life! Between moving to Europe and having a new little baby 2011 will be hard to beat. We started off 2011 in Utah for Christmas, but 2 days into the new year returned to our new home in The Netherlands. It was the first time since moving here over 3 months earlier that it finally felt like home. We landed at Schiphol airport in Amsterdam and I just had a calm feeling like this is where we are supposed to be right now. The next 11 months flew by and I can barely believe that it has almost been a year! We had an exciting year with the birth of our first baby in June something that we had been wanting for a long time. Before her birth we had a chance to visit a few places and have some fun. January - London, England

February - Brugge, Belgium

March - Holland Tour and Paris with Gentry's family.

We had a lot of fun with Gentry's parents and her sister Sayer as we toured Holland and spent a few days in Paris. One of our favorite places was Versailles and it will be tough to beat!

May - We had Gentry's sister Kylar in town in May so the girls toured Holland and spent time together. We planned on taking Kylar to Brugge since we love it there, but Gentry ended up having to stay in the hospital for a night so we missed out on that trip, but we still had fun while Kylar was visiting. We also had a chance to enjoy Queens day here in Holland. We took a stroll into Amsterdam with some friends and got lost in a sea of orange and crazy people celebrating Queens day!

June - The birth of our little girl Zoe!

July - We explored Amsterdam with the new baby and just enjoyed the summer weather in Amsterdam!

August - Family gets to meet Zoe for the first time. In August we returned to Utah so family could meet the baby and we could enjoy the summer in Utah. We had a great time visiting with friends, family and of course just relaxing by the pool!

September - We had an itch to get out and travel again since this baby put a hold on most of our travel plans so in September we decided we would stay close to home and spend a few days in Antwerp, Belgium and Berlin, Germany. I have to admit I wasn't really excited to go there, but thought it might be interesting to see. I'm happy we went I really enjoyed Berlin and it's great history. Although most of the city is new since WWII we were able to see the Berlin Wall, The Berlin dome, Check point Charlie and many other great sights.

October - My parents decided to come visit so we took them Prague and had a wonderful time.

2011 was a great year and we are excited for what 2012 has in store! Thanks for checking out the blog and sorry it has been so long since we posted. We will try and keep this blog up to date this year... Well we can try. :)
